Standard dimensions for Latvian door openings

2030 mm door leaves (Merini, Betia): 2065 mm including the frame — ideal for 2100 mm openings.

2000 mm door leaves (NEOKLASIKA, NANOFLEX, ELIT): can be installed in 2100 mm openings without cutting when using a 9 cm top casing.

Both lengths can be adjusted for lower opening heights.

How do Prodex laminated doors differ from budget-segment laminated doors?

The key difference lies in the core structure and the finish. Inexpensive doors feature an MDF frame covered by a thin paper laminate printed with a wood pattern—a material prone to rapid wear. Prodex door leaves are based on a standard height of 2030 mm, making them suitable for standard doorway heights in Latvia. Their structure consists of a robust solid wood and MDF frame (38–40 mm thick) finished with high-quality German PVC film or polypropylene (PP), offering superior resistance to scratches and moisture. An added advantage is the use of telescopic casings, which allow for installation without nails and provide a precise, aesthetic finish, even on uneven walls.

What is the "dowel-type construction" mentioned in the door description?

This is a modern modular manufacturing principle. The vertical and horizontal elements of the door leaf frame are joined using wooden dowels and strong adhesive, completely eliminating the need for metal screws. As a result, there are no visible holes or plastic caps on the sides of the door—elements that tend to loosen and fall out over time.

Can laminated doors with a polypropylene finish be cleaned using household cleaning products?

Yes. Polypropylene (PP) is a dense, chemically inert polymer. The surface can be safely cleaned with a damp cloth and standard non-abrasive furniture or glass cleaners, making it particularly suitable for households with small children or pets.

How do I know whether to choose a 2000 mm or a 2030 mm door leaf for my opening?

If the height of your clear opening from the finished floor matches the standard Latvian 2100 mm, the Merini series—with its standard 2030 mm door leaf (totaling 2065 mm including the frame)—or any other door leaf with a suitable frame type will be an ideal fit. If the opening is slightly lower (e.g., 2050 mm), choose the NEOKLASIKA or NANOFLEX series with a 2000 mm leaf; the frame will fit the opening without requiring the top timber to be cut, or Prodex can trim 2030 mm leaves to the height you require.
