Fire-resistant EI30 doors

Prodex offers galvanized metal interior doors (ZK series) and certified EI30 fire-resistant doors from the German manufacturer HÖRMANN. These solutions are specifically designed for spaces with demanding requirements regarding safety, mechanical load, and microclimate conditions—ranging from boiler rooms and garages in private homes to industrial facilities and warehouses—in compliance with the RAL RG 426 standard.

Unlike low-quality alternatives, HÖRMANN doors are constructed from double-sided galvanized steel with a smooth, matte powder-coated finish, ensuring complete protection against corrosion and surface deformation. All standard sizes listed are available in our Riga warehouse inventory for immediate pickup.

Engineering Design and Regulatory Compliance

  • Fire resistance class EI30 (German T30 standard): Models feature a reinforced 45 mm door leaf, dense mineral wool infill, and security dog bolts. They comply with strict European building regulations (official Certificate No. Z-6.12-1604) and are equipped with self-closing spring hinges in accordance with DIN 18272.
  • Mechanical strength and ZK standard: The ZK series of interior doors features a 40 mm leaf made of 0.6 mm thick double-sided galvanized sheet steel with a rigid honeycomb core. In accordance with the RAL RG 426 standard, they meet the requirements for high climate class III and mechanical load group S. The construction ensures excellent thermal insulation in compliance with EN ISO 12567-1 (thermal transmittance coefficient U = 2.1 W/m²K).
  • Frame and installation geometry: Door leaves are paired with robust corner frames made of 1.5 mm to 2 mm thick steel, featuring an integrated factory-fitted casing on one side and a built-in sealing gasket. The frame profiles come with pre-welded fixing plates for secure mounting within the door opening.
  • Building regulations stipulate that the thickness of the wall for installation must be at least 115 mm for brickwork and at least 100 mm for concrete walls.

  • Surface finish and color scheme: As standard, all doors are coated with a highly durable, smooth matte powder coating. The base color for the ZK series is Traffic White (RAL 9016). Fire-resistant models feature a Grey White finish (RAL 9002).

Complete installation package

When purchasing HÖRMANN metal doors, the customer receives a lockable set that is fully prepared for installation. The standard interior door package includes the door leaf, a steel corner frame with a rubber seal, a heavy-duty lock compliant with DIN standards (suitable for a PZ profile cylinder), two hinges, a black lever handle set, and a temporary BB insert with a standard key. The fire-resistant door package additionally includes a sealing threshold and handles with a steel core. A wide range of opening sizes is available from our Riga warehouse – widths from 700 mm to 1200 mm and heights from 2000 mm to 2100 mm.

Can HÖRMANN ZK metal doors be installed in damp areas, such as basements or production facilities?

Yes. The door leaf and frame are manufactured from double-sided galvanized sheet metal and finished with a high-quality powder coating (RAL 9016), providing robust protection against corrosion and rust. In accordance with the RAL RG 426 standard, the doors meet Climate Class III requirements, meaning they do not deform under the influence of humidity and temperature fluctuations.

What exactly is the difference between ZK metal interior doors and EI30 fire-resistant doors?

The ZK series features a 40 mm thick door leaf with a honeycomb core, designed for robust interior partitioning. The fire-resistant doors feature a thicker 45 mm leaf with a heat-resistant mineral wool core, a concealed fire-resistant profile, security locking pins, and certified spring hinges (DIN 18272). They are officially certified to provide 30 minutes of resistance against flames and heat (Certificate No. Z-6.12-1604), as required by the State Fire and Rescue Service.

What is a "corner box with an integrated casing," and what are its installation requirements?

This is a special German steel frame profile (1.5–2 mm thick) featuring an edge that is factory-formed into a neat L-shaped casing. Upon installation, this casing precisely covers the corner of the opening on one side. To securely anchor the frame—whether by embedding it in masonry or fastening it with dowels to mounting plates—the wall thickness must be at least 115 mm for brickwork and at least 100 mm for concrete.

Can the opening direction of this door be changed from right to left?

It depends on the model and the manufacturer’s specifications. The fire-resistant door model is designed with a fully universal opening direction—during installation, the frame can be oriented for either right-hand or left-hand opening. In contrast, for ZK series interior doors ordered from our stock list, the required opening type (DIN right or DIN left) must be precisely selected and specified.
